My NIA Story
I found NIA in November 2019 when I wanted to learn belly dancing. The dance studio greeter recommended I try NIA to condition my body.
NIA was a workout unlike any other. enjoyed the variety of the workouts, and it really helped me stay fit during Covid.
In March of 2021, I moved away from my dance studio, and lost touch with NIA. A few months later, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's hypothyroidism, and spent the next three years drastically changing my diet, detoxing my body, and changing my self-talk. I felt well enough to workout again in November of 2024, and reconnected with NIA.
My body started feeling better in a few weeks, and I decided to make NIA a permanent companion on my healing journey and set a goal of completing 250, 25 minute workouts in 2025. Â
Soon after, I felt well enough to attempt some of NIA's Specialty Belt Trainings. I completed my White Belt in May 2025, and my Blue Belt in June of 2025. I completed my Brown Belt in September, and planning to complete my Green Belt by the end of 2025. I'm on track to earn my Black Belt in 2026.
